Sometimes the tone is a bit on the "conversational" side for my taste, but it's still chock full of good resources. To point you in the right direction for a more in-depth guide, check out the X3 Handbook - it's a collection of a number of useful guides generated by the community over the years.
If you're having trouble with a specific mission class, you might browse the mission guides on the X3 Wiki, which contains information about how to complete each type of mission, and what you'll need in order to be successful. Combat's kind of an advanced subject, as you'll likely have to sink a fair number of credits into a good "dogfighting" ship and the appropriate armaments for it.
Mining is not something I engaged in much personally, as it tends to require some large ships and a lot of manual effort.
Then your job becomes one mostly of macro-managing the production chains to ensure that the money continues to flow. For instance, buy Energy Cells from a Solar Plant, and sell them at a factory or other station that requires them.ĭoing this manually takes quite a bit of time and effort, but eventually you'll gain the funds and resources required to command additional ships - you can then send them to run these hauling operations for you, earning you cash while you pursue other things.Įventually you'll get enough money to build your own stations, and then you can make mega profits producing finished goods directly from raw materials. You want to buy items at places where they are inexpensive, and sell them at places where you can make a profit. I will be there in the que but AP well it's for the Bin.The X3 series is very complex and it can take many hours to gain any significant understanding of the game's mechanics.Īt it's core, it's a space trading game. I just hope X3 Rebirth can learn from this mistake of Albion Prelude and be all It's prommised to be.
The New XTC 2.0 Mod is due for release anytime now. If you want a real X3 TC+ expreience take my advice get the old X3TC and download the Mod XTC, now that is a real experience.
The official set of features for Albion Rebirth are as follows: A new plot. Albion Prelude is essentially an add-on that’s seemingly being used as a means of generating more interest in 2012’s upcoming X Rebirth. The boxed edition is at some point during Q1 2012.
PC users can download through Steam, Mac users need to use. perhaps someone at Egosoft has a nasty mean streak and is still chuckling about adding this silly mission but missions that turn player off is not the way to progress. X3: Albion Prelude is now available for PC and Mac. Now some players are resorting to cheat scripts (check the web) to get around this but what's the point of designing missions where skill count for nothing and luck/cheating is the way forward. So far I must have shot up hundreds and only get one, a M fighter, to bail. Won't tell you much more so as not to spoil things but unless you are very lucky and find an abandoned one floating about you have to get one to bail out on you during combat and with Xenon ships this is a very very rere occurance. The mission in question where I'm so frustrated that I cannot go on is the fastly becoming notorious deliver a Xenon L fighter to a station. I'm about to give up on this game and that says it all. Terrible, frustrating mission development. I found "day trading" commodities the best way and getting access to every exchange means that you can have lots of stocks running at once, Buy high/sell low and before you know it loads of dosh.Īll sounds good so far but here comes the bad bit. Each race has a number of exchanges in different sectors and to get access to them you need do something for the race, be it pay a joining fee, achieve a perticular standing or have a factory/station in thier space. Now the Stock Exchange provides anouther route. Taking Bouny missions was/is another way but as your fighting rank progresses it gets harder and harder to take on the bounty missions without a very good ship. In the previous X3 games you would have to get very good at capturing enimy ships and/or build a manufacturing empire and/or trading empire to get the big bucks, all of which take lots of gametime. The Stock Exchange is a great Idea and can be a very easy way to make loads of money without resorting to cheating/creative ways to get the dosh you will need to get the good ships and kit to outfit them with. The odd revamped ship and the best bit depending on your view of how you want to make money. There are some additional sectors to explore but it's pretty much the X3 TC universe. If you have palyed X3 TC then this very similar but set earlier in time with a race war.
